Molecular Dynamics Machine (MDM) is a special-purpose computer for large scale molecular dynamics (MD) simulations.
It has a peak speed of 78 Tflops.
It is composed of two special-purpose computers, MDGRAPE-2 and WINE-2, and a host computer.
MDGRAPE-2 performs real-space part of the Ewald summation and van der Waals calculation.
WINE-2 performs wavenumber-space part of the Ewald summation.
The host computer performs other operations, such as bonding force calculation, time integration and file I/O. |
